The words to read

Yearly Vision asks you to finish one sentence eight times. 'This time next year, I will...' The eight areas are the ones from your Wheel of Life, so the two tools sit side by side. One short line for each area, and a confidence rating on whether you think you will get there. Doing all eight is the point. Left alone, most of us set goals in two areas, usually work and fitness, and let the rest drift for a year without noticing. Writing a line for every area makes the drift visible. The confidence rating is worth being honest about. Where you have written something ambitious and rated your confidence at two, you have found the area that needs a plan rather than a wish. Where you have rated yourself at ten, you have probably set the bar too low. It is built on goal-setting theory applied across life domains, the same Locke and Latham foundation as the other goal tools here, with the structure borrowed from the Wheel of Life. Each line can be turned straight into a goal, so nothing gets stranded. Do it once a year. Read it again six months later. Most people are surprised by how much has moved, and by which area has not.
